At the family-run Romantik Hotel Lindner in Bad Aibling, Germany, tradition and style are writ large. Mr Deitmar, you have replaced the packaged, small care products in your Junior Suites with large dispensers of Saint Charles care products. Why?
We want to reduce plastic waste. The world is deeply concerned about the tons of plastic waste that float in the ocean, end up in the soil and eventually in our bodies because we are at the bottom of the food chain. But concern alone has not brought about improvement. Decisive action is needed. At the Lindner Hotel, we replaced plastic straws as a first step. At first I thought: Straws! Are you serious? But when you start to think about it, you realise what a lot comes together over the year. It's the same with jam jars and personal care products.
How and what do you choose as a responsible hotelier then?
We searched for a long time and selected carefully. We found what we were looking for in the products of Saint Charles Apotheke Wien. The high-quality, discreetly stylish products are of outstanding organic quality. Natural essential oils, local plant and herbal extracts such as larch pine, basil or juniper are used. That suits the foothills of the Alps, i.e. Bad Aibling. And lived social responsibility through sustainable management and a respectful approach to nature, as practised by Saint Charles, suits the Lindner Hotel.
