MOUTH OIL PULLING

OIL PULLING WITH MOUTH OIL - THE AYURVEDIC TREATMENT

Oil pulling is a trend, but it should not be underestimated. Because oil pulling is an uncomplicated method that contributes to daily detoxification. In the Ayurvedic tradition of oil pulling, "oil pulling" detoxifies the body. Indian medicine states that all organs are "representative" on the tongue. Since the 1990s, oil pulling has also become a cleansing morning ritual for many people outside of Ayurveda.

Because the oral cavity is exposed to numerous stresses due to our current eating habits and modern lifestyle: sugar and sugary foods attack the teeth, processed foods and wheat products lower the pH value. This leads to an acidified oral flora.

ARGUMENTS FOR USING A SPECIAL MOUTH OIL PULLING PRODUCT

Hardly any effect of oil pulling has been better researched than that on gum and oral health. Since oils can bind and remove substances in dental plaque, oil pulling can even contribute to improving the appearance of teeth in the long term. Because a good mouth oil pulling product specifically targets the holistic health of the oral cavity. The special plant extracts or essential oils contained in mouth oil pulling products have a positive effect on the oral flora and bacteria cultures in the mouth and can reduce bad breath and especially dental plaque.

Popular essential oils in mouth oil pulling and their effects:

- Eucalyptus oil: Eucalyptus oil has many health-promoting and antioxidant properties.
- Clove oil: This antioxidant oil is known for its immune-boosting properties and is considered a top free radical scavenger.
- Rosemary: Rosemary has a vitalizing effect.
- Cinnamon bark: Cinnamon bark also has a high proportion of antioxidants and is anti-inflammatory.
- Lemon: Lemon is also a strong antioxidant, refreshes and is antibacterial.

Due to the protective and regenerative effect of the essential oils, mouth oil pulling products can support the gums in regenerating.

THE APPLICATION OF THE OIL PULLING RITUAL

The application of the oil pulling ritual is particularly easy, but should be carried out regularly. Take a tablespoon of oil in your mouth and pull the oil back and forth in your mouth for 20 minutes. Ideally in the morning, the bacterial waste products accumulated overnight are bound in the oil. It is extremely important during oil pulling to maintain the duration of the procedure. It is now known that the duration of oil pulling should not be less than 20 minutes. Our pharmacists at the pharmacy also recommend this time because the antibacterial substance in the oil needs this time to seep quietly into the gum pockets. As a reinforcing measure, we recommend cleaning the tongue coating with a tongue scraper immediately after getting up in the morning.

After the oil has been spat out, the mouth should be rinsed several times with warm water and the teeth should be thoroughly brushed. Those who still have amalgam fillings in their mouth should pull the oil gently in their mouth to prevent any fillings from coming loose. The oil can be disposed of with other used oil.

OIL PULLING AS AN ADDITIONAL ORAL CARE MEASURE

Oil pulling should never replace brushing teeth, but should be seen as an additional oral care measure. Traditionally, pure sesame oil is used for oil pulling. Experience shows that besides cold-pressed sesame oil, sunflower oil, linseed oil, and coconut oil (especially popular) work best. However, there is much to be said for using a special mouth oil pulling product instead of regular plant oils for oil pulling. In any case, care should be taken to always use a 100% pure and effective organic oil.

Various oils are suitable for oil pulling. We recommend pure organic plant oils such as coconut oil or ready-made oil blends made from a special combination of plant oils and essential oils.
