Propolis is derived from bees who gather it from resins and balsamic essential oils and then mix it with beeswax. It has been valued as a “bee antibiotic” since ancient times. Due to its antibacterial, antiviral and fungicidal effects propolis is an important, protective substance with which bees – without developing a resistance – keep germ-free.
