Neuer Hotspot in der Wiener Hotelszene: Imperial Riding School

New hotspot in the Viennese hotel scene: Imperial Riding School

Vienna has gained a new hotspot with the opening of the Imperial Riding School Hotel in May 2024. The historic building, lovingly renovated, combines Vienna's rich history with modern luxury and offers guests an unrivalled experience with Saint Charles products.

New city centre hotel with history

The Imperial Riding School Hotel has 342 luxurious guest rooms and suites, a spacious wellness area with indoor pool and a restaurant in Vienna's largest private city centre garden. The restaurant "Elstar - The Garden" and the stylish bar "The Farrier" invite you to enjoy culinary delights in a unique ambience. The hotel is ideally located between Ungargasse, Linke Bahngasse and Rennweg, and is attractive for both tourists and business travellers.

The building, originally built as the Harrach Garden Palace in 1727 and later used as a military riding school, has been extensively renovated over the last 18 months. Particular attention was paid to preserving the historical elements while at the same time integrating modern design elements. The new design, carried out by renowned design and architecture firms, combines classic elegance with contemporary style. "The multi-faceted identity of the building is reflected in our new hotel concept, which is characterised by equestrian elegance and an idyllic natural paradise," describes General Manager Jürgen Fleischhacker.

The history of the building is fascinating and multi-layered: originally built as the Harrach Garden Palace, it became a military riding school under Emperor Franz Joseph I. It later housed one of the city's largest cinemas and was eventually used as a garage for electric post buses. Today, after extensive renovation, the Imperial Riding School Hotel shines as a luxurious hotel and skilfully combines past and present.
