Palo Santo Hydrolat- Mode of action and application

The country of origin of Palo Santo is Peru. Its use among the Indian population as a panacea goes back to a thousand-year-old tradition . In Colombian folk medicine, palo santo is used as an analgesic (anti-inflammatory agent), aphrodisiac, diuretic (diuretic), expectorant, insecticide or as a means of ritual purification. The wood is either boiled or burnt to release its fragrance.

The effects of palo santo

It is said that evil spirits shun the characteristic scent of the resin contained in the wood. When smoked, Palo Santo has a stimulating and euphoric effect on the human spirit and provides a calming atmosphere, especially in stressful times. The smoke is also a good aid for deepening in prayer and meditation. The hydrolate can be used in the office, in the car, for house cleansing of the aura, for cleansing rooms, in ritual work, for spiritual cleansing, stress management or as a perfume. Palo Santo is said to have great healing powers and to dispel negative energies of all kinds according to ancient tradition.
