A few years ago, Rose-Marie began to experience health problems that affected her physically, mentally and emotionally. After an extensive series of tests, her blood was found to contain toxic levels of heavy metals such as aluminium, barium, cadmium, lead and mercury, as well as high levels of pesticides and other chemicals. Rose-Marie was surprised when the lab technician asked her if she worked in the cosmetics industry. Until then, she was unaware that cosmetics could lead to such serious health problems. After years of recovery, Rose-Marie realised that she wanted to support other women in their right to healthy beauty. To achieve this goal, she created RMS Beauty, her acclaimed natural colour cosmetics brand.

The philosophy
After many years in the fashion and cosmetics industry, I have learned a lot about the effects of daily exposure to chemicals in beauty products. I've seen which products deliver what they promise and which don't. I see what comes out of using quick fixes to look good. I know first-hand what beauty means at the expense of health. Certified organic guarantees safety, but not quality. RMS Beauty has not only selected the safest raw materials, but also guarantees that the products use raw materials of the highest available quality. Some inspection bodies such as the USDA now certify RBD (refined, bleached, deodorised) products as certified organic. This means that they are ultimately stripped of some of their essential nutrients after RBD processing. RMS Beauty completely avoids such RBD products. We believe that by certifying RBD products, the USDA is undermining what the USDA seal is supposed to stand for.
