As a member of the Saint Charles family, the Saint Charles Alimentary is located diagonally opposite the pharmacy that gave the name to the building. The philosophy of SAINT CHARLES has always revolved around the herbs we find on our doorstep, how we process them into remedies, how we let them work in cosmetics or how we enjoy them culinarily. The small but fine Alimentary inn brings these herbs and many other seasonal ingredients to our plates and always serves up the philosophy of holistic health a little bit.
Enter MY KITCHEN – since 9 July 2020 at the Saint Charles Alimentary
The Saint Charles Alimentary has a new partner! With Bettina from Enter MY KITCHEN, a true expert in gastronomy will be moving into Gumpendorfer Strasse 33 over the summer. Lunch – soup – salad are her focus – preferably with high quality meat, but often simply vegetarian or vegan. Regional ingredients and homemade dishes are very important to her. According to the motto “That’s where it comes from”, all ingredients are lovingly selected from small Austrian producers or directly produced by Bettina. Here one knows the producers still personally. So the cheese comes from the cheese dairy Höflmaier in Upper Austria, the beef from the farm shop Herbst in Jennersdorf in Burgenland and the olives from Austrian production (!) from the olive farm in Lower Austria, herbal tea and honey come from Saint Charles. The absolute highlight are the Aperitivo Kombis á la Tapas Style in the evening.
It is important to Bettina that nothing is thrown away, but that ingredients are recycled as much as possible. If there are pieces of bread left over from the previous day, for example, these are simply turned into bread crumbs the next day. Vegetables are pickled and used for the aperitif plate. The menu changes every one or two weeks, not completely but every now and then. Depending on the availability of regional ingredients and mood.

If the bottle of wine, the sustainable cheese or the traditional sausage tastes good, all products and goods can also be taken away. Dishes in sustainable take away packaging without plastic are of course also available.

For small groups of 10-12 persons Bettina also regularly offers the premises of Saint Charles Alimentary. Perfect for small (company) parties Bettina cooks an individual menu according to your wishes in aperitivo style.
About Bettina from Enter MY KITCHEN
Bettina Zeller comes from the catering trade. She previously worked for 7 years at the Austrian catering company Do & Co. During the Corona crisis she was also sent on short-time work. Here Bettina became aware of how much she was under stress in her old job and how little she could realize herself there. After Bettina had been toying with the idea of building up her own business for a long time, she summoned up the courage to quit and walk away. As chance would have it, the chance came to take over the Saint Charles Alimentary. Without much thinking about it, the doors were opened and now Bettina works from Tuesday to Saturday with full passion on the implementation of her ideas. The best thing about her job is that I can now present my idea to the culinary world and decide when to open the doors and what to put on the table,” says Bettina. True to the motto “# homemade / all dishes are prepared dancing” Bettina now stands completely behind her dishes.
