Our store in Vienna's Herrengasse was awarded the GERMAN DESIGN AWARD SPECIAL 2022! The high-calibre international jury honoured our store, which was developed in cooperation with the Wiener Architecture Office KLK with a Special Mention in Excellent Architecture.
The Saint Charles store concept focuses on the shopping experience for customers - making them experience the brand with its now almost 400 products in the areas of natural cosmetics, aromatherapy and natural medicine.
Regional craftsmanship with real passion
This makes spending time in the store, which is only 32 square metres in size, a multi-sensory experience. The natural product world can be smelled, tasted or even felt. The unusual "tasting stations" were created by carpenter Stefan Knopp from solid local oak blocks and have an unmistakable chainsaw look. In addition to the wooden steles, the elegant black steel shelves running along the wall Locksmithery from Wolfgang Ure.
The handmade tiles by the traditional Vorarlberg company Karak around the counter and the central washbasin are also an unmistakable design element and eye-catcher. The texture and look of the selected materials give the store a special feel-good ambience.
"Together with KLK's team of architects and the art of exceptional craftsmen, we have succeeded in developing a design that provides a shopping experience and at the same time a feel-good factor. The passion for what we do and our product world should be experienced and felt by the customer ", explains CEO Richard König.
The future - Saint Charles goes franchise
Due to the broad interest in Saint Charles and the great success of the first mono-brand store, Saint Charles has decided to expand its locations in order to reach more customers. They are currently looking for franchise partners who share the passion of reinterpreting old knowledge and would like to open a store together with Saint Charles. The first franchise stores are already in the planning stage, which means that the award-winning store design will soon be found in other cities.About the German Design Award
