Hemp belongs to one of the oldest cultivated plants on earth and was used very early on for the manufacture of clothing, as paper, canvasses or sails. The important omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are present in hemp oil in an optimal ration. These are found in ratios of about 1:3 (omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids), so that hemp oil is not only used as a gourmet oil in the refinement of foods, but also in the areas of health care.
