In the past, in order to prevent unpleasant odours, myrtle leaves were worn in the armpits and loins of many in the warm, Mediterranean lands. In the 16th century a very popular toilet water was derived from this, also known as “angel water”. The myrtle, also called “bride´s myrtle” was dedicated and sacred to Aphrodite and is today still bound in bridal bouquets. The scent of myrtle has a particularly spicy-herbal fragrance. The oil has a very relaxing effect on the body and spirit during inhalation and it is also used for the treatment of hay fever.

AROMATHERAPY

A fragrance says more than 1,000 words - because smells form an important basis of communication. Smelling was and is immensely important for our lives. The human sense of smell has a particularly fast and direct connection to the brain. In particular to the limbic system, which primarily controls unconscious actions and serves to process feelings. This olfactory memory allows us to remember exactly what it smelled like in grandma's kitchen at Christmas - or on our first holiday in the alpine region - even decades later.
