Founded in 1886 by the pharmacist Alfred Blumenthal, the pharmacy and its pharmacy* in Vienna's Gumpendorfer Straße, located between the popular Naschmarkt and the well-known Mariahilferstraße, is the historical backbone of Saint Charles. Alexander Ehrmann die historische Apotheke und gründete Saint Charles. And with it a new and innovative understanding of how the tradition of pharmacy can be reinterpreted. The natural cosmetics shop Cosmothecary, a spa for treatments, an organic restaurant and a health centre for therapists were also established at the same time - in line with a holistic view of health and wellbeing.

Following its own mission "We Create Human Wellbeing", Saint Charles has been focussing on building a sustainable brand for health and wellbeing since 2016. In addition to the Saint Charles pharmacies in Berlin and Vienna, the Saint Charles family now also includes Saint Charles stores in Vienna, Linz, Salzburg, Munich, Dornbirn and Antwerp. As well as numerous partners such as pharmacies, concept stores, natural cosmetics shops, restaurants, yoga studios and aromatherapists. Saint Charles products can now also be found in over 100 premium hotels worldwide.

Based on the teachings of Traditional European Medicine, the company relies on the healing power of nature and today offers a wide range of around 400 products in the areas of natural cosmetics, aromatherapy and herbal medicine for holistic well-being.
